Posto Review...

Mr Q visited the recently opened Posto on 14th Street NW last night...along with AJ, Jason and his beau from San Fran...

Unfortunately I didn't bring the camera along so don't have any shots of our meals, but everything we had was enjoyable...I started with a mixed green salad (which had salami and golden raisins in it)...very good ($8). The salmon with a black-eyed pea salad and red wine reduction was also excellent ($18). AJ enjoyed his first-ever polenta ($10) and ravioli ($16)...although the ravioli portion was relatively small for that price...other entrees enjoyed were the grilled wild boar chops ($22) and the gnocchi ($15)...add in a couple bottles of wine, three desserts and the meals split 4 ways somehow added up to $70 per person...not Mr Q's usual Friday night tab, but it was good to try something new...

Future visits will probably steer towards the pizza menu which range from $11 - $13...and maybe beers instead of bottles of wine...I know its common but I still have trouble being charged $30, $40 or more for a bottle of wine I can get for $14 at the store...

My only complaint with Posto was the atmosphere...it was packed (which is great!), but LOTS of hard surfaces make for a noisy dining atmosphere....concrete floors, hard tables and chairs that look like they belong more in a coffee break room at work than a nice restaurant...the lighting is pleasant but the atmosphere could use some serious "softening"...

All in all, a good addition to 14th Street and we'd go back again, but will focus on the pizza menu and hope they do something to reduce the noise level...and those chairs...ugh.
